Buying at the right moment is the easiest way to get better prices and fresher goods. Here is a simple calendar our sourcing team uses with buyers.
Winter: citrus and strawberries
Oranges and mandarins ship from November to March. Strawberries follow the same window. Book reefer containers early because demand from Europe and the Gulf peaks in December.
Spring: potatoes, onions and garlic
New-crop potatoes and onions are available from January to June. They travel well and are a good first order for new buyers.
Autumn: cotton and dates
Cotton is ginned from September, and fresh dates arrive between September and December. Contract before the harvest to secure the best grades.
